Holidays: An Arrow in the Knee

I shall return the comments. I shall! But hold up, I just need want to catch you up on everything first. Not that there’s much to catch up on. I was on holiday doing nothing as per usual.

First of all, being away from a reliable source of Internet for any amount of time is something I consider a stint that I’m ill prepared to suffer through. It’s not that I’m obsessed with the Internet (first stage: denial), it’s just that if I don’t check emails, participate in social networking and attend to Windymill regularly everything starts piling up thick and fast (second stage: excuses). When I’m online regularly, my online life is slow going and easy to contend with. Very rarely do I get interesting/urgent/useful emails that I must respond to. Very rarely does my Facebook notifications count go beyond one or two. And I’m continuously driving down the constant stream of Youtube subscription videos and RSS feeds of blogs on a daily basis so it never piles up.

But…when I’m gone, just for ten days, it all starts to blow up. It might have something to do with my putting up a new layout just casually prior to jetting off that I get a decent pile of comments to return, but the statement still stands. Nothing happens when I’m here and an unprecedented amounts of things happen whilst I’m gone. Why?

Also I was very bad leaving the new layout to fend for itself in its first days as layout. I mean: I put it up, organize my WordPress blog categories well enough, mess up all of my website’s pages and then decide that this is the perfect interval for a holiday. That really is responsible of me.

Do I have any news? Yes, I’m fucked for my exams next week. I have left myself exactly five meager days to learn everything I’ve learnt in the past term at school. It just goes to show that Jenny Aster does indeed take her AS-Levels very seriously. Vacations screw me up. They just screw me right up like a scrapped piece of paper in an angry palm. I can’t concentrate anywhere except in the island paradise known as my own room which I claimed to my sister loudly on the plane earlier today (or yesterday? my brain is fuzzy…) that it was its own separate country and that you need a valid passport and visa to enter it. I don’t think she bought it somehow.

Anyway, I’d like to wish you all a very happy new year and (although I’m not religious) I hope it is blessed and every bit the fresh start you hope it to be. For some reason I feel the conclusion of this blog should be accompanied by the Vulcan salute and Spock saying, “Live long and prosper.”

So yeah, do that.

I always feel that if I’m away from the Internet for so long I’ll have a gigantic pile to clear later, too. I remember not going on the Internet for a few weeks and came back with crap loads of comments, subscriptions, deviantArt messages, etc. Not to mention, I’m a lazy person, so it was even more difficult for me to sort through all of the notifications.

Good luck. I screwed up my exams. I completely regret not studying enough, but I can’t do anything about it now. On towards the new semester…

You don’t have to be religious to give or receive blessings. I am completely against organized religions and the like but offer out wishings of blessed new years all the time. And thank you, I hope your 2012 is filled with blessings of love, laughter and light. (xox)

Good luck with your exams, I hope you cram in all the right information and get stellar grades. Thank you for dropping by my website and leaving a comment, and thank you again for agreeing to make me a WP theme. I will be mailing you more regarding that sometime today. :)

Yes, don’t you just feel like when you’re online nothing new ever happens. But then that ONE day when you’re out of the computer for the whole day – everybody updates their blogs & twitter & facebook statuses and so on :P

I KNOW RIGHT? It’s like everyone’s waiting for me to leave! “Oh God, that annoying girl’s finally gone so I can FINALLY update my blog/status/whatever!” haha

Maybe your swanky, awesome, super-gorgeous layout just inspired everyone to comment and blog and just do stuff ;D It’s certainly a possibility. Either that, or the universe just really wants you to be distracted to the point that you fail those exams of yours. So focus, and do well. Go! :D Study long and prosper. :D :D :D

I hope you had fun on your holiday, and good luck in your exams. I’m sure you’ll do super ;D
